A defendant could not attend this morning’s sitting of Letterkenny District Court due to the ongoing bus strike.
The all-out strike action by Bus Eireann workers is in its 18th day today and has inconvenienced commuters across the country.
Kassim Dembele, of Clondalking in Dublin, was due to appear before the court in Letterkenny this morning.
Solictor Patsy Gallagher, representing Mr Dembele said his client ‘couldn’t get here due to the bus strike.’
“I’m not even going to ask if it will be over for the 15th of May,” said Judge Deirdre Gearty.
It was noted in court that other services were available between Dublin and Donegal.
In Mr Dembele’s absence, the matter was put back until May 15th.
