Twenty eight pupils from St Eunan’s in Letterkenny undertook a cycle to Dublin in aid of the mental health charity JIGSAW last Saturday and did so without leaving the shopping centre!
The group cycled continuously on stationary bikes over 7 hours, and in the process funds were raised from the generosity of passers by.
Incredibly the group managed to clock up 395.5km, which is the equivalent of cycling the length of the country to Cork!
The students would like to thank Robert Kavanagh, Donegal Cycle Club, for his help in organising the bikes and equipment, their transport to and from the shopping centre, and for his advice.
The bikes were kindly supplied by Nigel Drein, Letterkenny Fitness Centre to whom sincere thanks is also sent.
Thanks too to Manager Brian McCracken and the security staff of Letterkenny Shopping Centre for facilitating the venture.
Gratitude is expressed to all who donated, the students who took part and the staff and Parents association who assisted.
