Finn Harps officials will have to perform their own version of the loaves and fishes for Friday-week’s north-west derby against Derry City at Maginn Park.
Harps have been told that they will receive an allocation of 200 tickets for the game against their derby foes.
Derry are using Maginn Park for the 2017 as their home ground, Brandywell Stadium, is being redeveloped. The Buncrana ground has a capacity of around 1,600.
News that Harps will receive 200 tickets has actually come as a welcome to the Ballybofey club, who initially anticipated a scant allocation of less than 100.
However, the 200 tickets won’t come anywhere near to satisfying demand.
Harps have said that they will be giving preference to season ticket holders and club volunteers. For starters, Harps have around 240 season ticket holders and it is unlikely that there will be too many of those who won’t want to be at Maginn for the derby.
A statement from Finn Harps this afternoon said:
Tags:“Due to limited capacity, Finn Harps FC have received an allocation of 200 tickets for away supporters for SSE Airtricity Premier Division Game at Maginn Park on Friday April 14th.
“As this number will not nearly satisfy demand from Harps supporters preference will have to be given to volunteers and season ticket holders, who can purchase one ticket each subject to availability. All tickets to away end are €12 each.
“Unfortunately we will be unable to put any tickets on general sale. Season ticket holders and volunteers can apply by emailing harpsmail@gmail.com and club the will respond early next week.
“The club is currently preparing for a huge game against Dundalk at Finn Park tomorrow night so we would appreciate if people could refrain from ringing the office about this matter.”
