Oscar De La Hoya has backed Jason Quigley to recovery from injury and capture more pro titles.

On the way to winning the NABF middleweight title last week against Glen Tapia, ‘El Animal’ Quigley suffered an injury to his right hand that medics in Los Angeles described as a ‘one in ten million’ chance.
Quigley will have surgery tomorrow in LA and Golden Boy Promotions chief De La Hoya has hailed the Ballybofey man’s display.

“Jason fought with incredible heart in his headlining event on Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN last Thursday,” De La Hoya told Donegal Daily.
“Despite a difficult hand injury, he went the distance with Tapia to secure the NABF title.
“Jason is a talented fighter and I believe he will fight his way to earning more titles as his career progresses.
“Golden Boy congratulates him on the hard earned victory, and we can’t wait to see him back in the ring in the near future once he’s healed up.”
Quigley could be back in the ring as soon as the autumn to attempt to improve his 13-0 record.
Golden Boy President Eric Gomez added: “Though the doctor was surprised that Jason could lift his hand — let alone win a 10-round prizefight — after breaking his hand and ‘shredding’ his tendon, this kind of heart, will and skill is what we have come to expect from Jason.”
