Pearse Doherty didn’t hang around in responding to a mock up in the Guardian that erroneously showed Donegal as part of Britain, warning: ‘Hands off’.
United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May has signed a letter to formally begin the UK’s departure from the European Union, a process dubbed as ‘Brexit’.
Giving official notice under Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, it will be delivered to European Council president Donald Tusk later today.
The Guardian’s front page today shows a map of Europe depicted as a jigsaw with a missing piece – Britain. Eagle eyed social media users noticed that the graphic includes Donegal as part of the missing section.
Among those to respond was Sinn Fein Deputy Pearse Doherty.
He Tweeted: “hands off Donegal and give us our six counties back too.”
