Daniel O’Donnell’s latest TV adventure has sparked a surge in bookings for the B&Bs featured.
Operators of the guesthouses have been inundated with inquiries and reservations due to their exposure on Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road Trip.
And the Irish Mirror reports how some fans have even asked to sleep in the same bed the veteran singer and his wife used on the RTE show.
Olive O’Gorman, who runs multi award-winning Glasha Farmhouse in the Nire Valley, Co Waterford, said inquiries have doubled since the pair paid a visit in the second episode of the new series.
She added: “It was such a pleasure to have Daniel and Majella stay with us.
“They were lovely and great fun and clearly a lot of people watched the
programme because I’ve had loads of emails and messages since, along with a good few more bookings.”
Bookings at Gallan Mor Boutique B&B in west Cork have also increased since the 55-year-old from Co Donegal and his wife visited in the first part of the series.
Lorna Burke, who runs the four-bedroom premises with husband Noel, said: “We’ve had really good feedback and on the day after the show was broadcast we had four or five immediate bookings.”
It’s the same story at Anam Cara Manor in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
Owner Moira Fowler said: “It’s generated a lot of interest and it’s been great for business.
“I think we’ve now had about 40 bookings for the summer.”
And Nancy Tangney, 71, said she expects a busier season following the celebrity couple’s visit to Tralee, Co Kerry.
Nancy, who runs three-bedroom Lee Farm House, has been inundated with calls from all over the world.
Meanwhile, Daniel said 2017 looks likely to be one of his busiest years ever with more than 100 concerts booked.
