A girl injured in a car crash in West Donegal in 2014 has been awarded €15,000 in Donegal Circuit Court.
The court heard that the girl, who was five at the time of the crash, was strapped into a child’s seat in the rear of the car being driven her mother.
The child suffered an injured knee, from which she fully recovered from, but she then began experiencing “occasional car sickness” after the event, as well as travel anxiety, barrister James O’Donnell BL stated.
Mr O’Donnell said he was recommending the settlement sum to the court for his client.
He said the child still experiences travel sickness on occasion at present but the condition is improving.
The child’s father was in court for the ruling.
Judge Cormac Quinn granted the recommended settlement sum saying in his view it was “quite a good settlement” and awarded €15,000 to the child plus costs and legal fees totalling €1,756.
