Garda are investigating two incidents during which both a bookmakers shop and a post office were damaged during attempted break-ins.
The attempted raids were made on the two premises in Inishowen on Monday morning last.
The gang tried to break into a betting shop in Bridgend around 2.30am and then tried to break into the post office in Redcastle around 3am.
Gardai believe both incidents were connected but that improved security measures thwarted the gangs.
Gardai are studying CCTV footage from both incidents but have appealed for anybody with any information to come forward or contact them at Buncrana Garda station on 0749320540.
