Motorists travelling into Letterkenny have ben warned of heavy tailbacks this morning.
There is a large build-up of traffic from the Mountain Top Road into the town because of the icy conditions.
There are also unconfirmed reports of an accident at Mountain Top.
Motorists have been warned to allow more time for school runs and travelling to work.
Gardai have also issued an appeal for drivers to slow down and to allow for space between vehicles.
