Traffic gridlock has brought Letterkenny to a virtual standstill this evening.
Motorists have been left hugely frustrated this evening as roads in and out of the town have been clogged up on the eve of St Patrick’s Day.
Gardai have reported no major accidents causing the delays b ut rather a heavier-than-usual volume in and around the Cathedral Town.
As well as the Pearse Road and Neil T Blaney Road, outlying roads including Leck and the High Road are experiencing major tailbacks.
The message from fed-up drivers this evening is that if your journey is not vital, give it a while!
