On Owey Island off the West coast of Donegal, there are two lakes.
The first is a conventional one on the soil and an easy to walk to on the clifftops at the far end of the island.
The second lake is 50 metre directly underground below the first lake.
In this adventurer Iain Miller visits the Pool of Tranquility at the far end of the underground lake at approx 200m underground from the entrance to the cave.
The film shows a 50m descent to a silt beach beside the lake and a 150m paddle to the pool at the far end of the lower lake. The pool sits in darkness with no natural light and the silence if deafening.
“There is nowhere else like this in Ireland and it is pretty much unknown outside of a handful of people,” said Iain.
