Country crooner Daniel O’Donnell has slammed greedy ticket touts for fleecing music fans.
The singer revealed his anger over the U2 show scandal — when tickets for their sold-out Croke Park gig popped up on a reselling site for up to four times the face value.
Daniel is currently gracing stages Down Under with his Back Home Again tour but promised not to leave any of his devotees disappointed on his 13-date Irish tour later this year.
Daniel, 55, said: “I don’t think any artist likes that to happen, you know, that real fans are prevented from getting seats and touts just charge astronomical prices.
“But I don’t know how they do that. I don’t know if all places do, but certainly we, the sales people, had a policy that you could only get so many seats.”
The country sensation has been topping charts around the world for over three decades but he welcomes rising stars of the genre such as Nathan Carter.
He said: “It’s a fantastic thing to see all the young people that are singing country music now.
“It’s really revitalised the whole business. It has brought a whole new group of people to the music.”
Daniel last month wowed fans onboard a luxury Caribbean cruise which set sail from Florida.
But the Kincasslagh man confirmed he wasn’t asked to perform at President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.
He said: “I wasn’t asked so I can’t comment, I’m not a political person. I’d never get involved in politics.”
