Donegal Businesses working on their entry to this year’s Local Enterprise Awards are being reminded this week that the closing date for entries (12 noon on March 10th) is fast approaching.
“A lot of businesses have looked at the awards and some have even started the application process. We just want to remind business owners of the deadline so they can put a big effort in over the week ahead to get their submissions finished,” Ursula Donnelly, Deputy Head of Enterprise of the LEO in Donegal said.
A total prize fund of €7,000 is up for grabs and the competition is open to all business sectors in Donegal that employ less than 50 full-time staff, with the exception of previous county winners who are not eligible to enter. A business does not need to have had any previous contact with the Local Enterprise Office to enter the awards.
Previous entrants to the competition have praised the benefits of the awards process for helping them renew and refresh focus on their business.
They have also insisted that the opportunities for networking and learning from other businesses in the county was tremendously beneficial to them as they moved their enterprise on to the next stage.
“I am confident that those who enter will really benefit from the experience and I am certain that the awards night will be a night they will remember. We have David Meade the acclaimed mentalist, who has his own show on BBC, coming to host the awards and he’s certain to entertain and enthrall the finalists with his unique style of mind reading and mentalism.
David is a researcher and lecturer in international business and he is a much sought-after speaker so we’re delighted to be able to bring him to Donegal,” Ursula added.
The awards, now in their 21st year, are the highlight of the business calendar in Donegal and this year’s winners will be announced on March 25th 2017 at a gala dinner in the Radisson Blu Hotel.
There is still time for businesses to get their entries in for the competition and entry forms and details are available on the website – https://www.localenterprise.ie/Donegal/Training-Events/Donegal-Business-Awards-2017/
