Finn Park has passed a morning pitch inspection for tonight’s game against Cork City, but a further examination of the surface will take place at 4pm.
Heavy overnight rain on Wednesday left the pitch doubtful yesterday and forced the Ballybofey club to request a preliminary inspection, which was carried out at 10am today.
The initial inspection has given the green light to the venue, but a further inspection will be carried out at 4 o’clock this afternoon.
Last season, an area of the River End of the Finn Park pitch was problematic, but in the winter Harps are believed to have spent upwards on €20,000 in upgrade works. Barring a big change in today’s weather, it is expected that the game will be on and Harps will get their season up and running.
So much at stake as Finn Harps roll the dice ahead of a defining season
