With the closing date for entries (March 10th) fast approaching, Donegal’s small businesses have been urged to step up to the plate and enter this year’s Local Enterprise Awards.
“We know that a lot of businesses look at the awards at the start of the year and for some reason, many then shy away. We want those businesses to be brave enough to follow through and step up to enter. With that in mind we have a free workshop from 2pm to 4pm on Monday 27th February to help anyone who might be interested in applying,” Ursula Donnelly, Assistant CEO of the LEO in Donegal said.
She added: “I am confident that those who enter will really benefit from the experience and I am certain that the awards night will be a night they will remember.”
Previous entrants to the competition have praised the benefits of the awards process for helping them renew and refresh focus on their business.
They have also insisted that the opportunities for networking and learning from other businesses in the county was tremendously beneficial to them as they moved their enterprise on to the next stage.
A total prize fund of €7,000 is up for grabs and the competition is open to all business sectors in Donegal that employ less than 50 full-time staff, with the exception of previous county winners who are not eligible to enter. A business does not need to have had any previous contact with the Local Enterprise Office to enter the awards.
The awards, now in their 21st year, are the highlight of the business calendar in Donegal and this year’s winners will be announced on March 25th 2017 at a gala dinner.
