Residents in east Donegal are being urged to keep vigilant for a red van that is alleged to have been involved in burglaries in County Derry.
The red Toyota Hiace van was spotted acting suspiciously in the Porthall and Lifford areas last week.
There were further reports yesterday of the same van being in the Lifford area, with concerned residents and community groups urging members to report any suspicious activity.
The news follows a spate of crime in the Killea and Carrigans areas last month.
The Hiace van that has been recorded in Porthall and Lifford has allegedly been used in burglaries in Coleraine and Limavady.
Last week, there were reports that the men driving around in the van were involved in the theft of a family dog in Coleraine.
“These men are going around looking like reputable work men, but they are acting very shifty and are basically checking out homes, possibly marking them to be future targets,” one concerned resident told Donegal Daily.
It has been alleged that the men in the van are attempting to sell pillows to residents.
