Swilly Seals host Newry and Mourne A.S.C in Towns League

The Swilly Seals hosted Newry and Mourne A.S.C on Saturday 28th January in the 4th round of the Provincial Towns League.
In what was predicted as a close competition it certainly lived up to that. Throughout the two and a half hour meet both teams edged ahead of each other and scores remained very close right up to the last event. With the teams so evenly matched this made for a highly competitive gala with an brilliant atmosphere.
The seals fielded a very strong team including swimmers who swam exhibition swims to display their talents and set down new personal best times. There was a fine display of swimming throughout the night from both teams and some really close finishes which saw the touch judges deliberate on quite a number of occasions.
In the end it was Newry and Mourne who won by 8 points with a final score of 576 to 568 for the Swilly Seals.
A big thanks to Newry and Mourne for making the long trip to Letterkenny and for a really exciting competition.
A big thanks also to all the coaches, committee and parents who helped run the gala. Well done to all the swimmers also who pushed themselves hard in every race setting new personal best times throughout the night.
