There is widespread sadness in Letterkenny and across Donegal following the sudden death of well-known publican Harry Blake.
Mr Blake was the proprietor of Blake’s Bar on Letterkenny’s Main Street which has strong connections with local GAA club St Eunans and many other sporting and social groups for decades.
Mr Blake, who was 82, was predeceased by his wife Maire (nee Doherty) and sister Eileen (Derry).
He is survived by his sons Joseph, Raymond, Kevin, David, daughter Ita, brothers Liam and Eunan, sisters Rosie (Oates, Sligo), Mary (Greene, Letterkenny), daughters-in-law Julia and Anne, grandchildren Peter, Jack, Harry and Annie as well as relatives and a wide circle of friends.
Mr Blake’s remains will repose at his home from 12 noon tomorrow (Friday) with burial following 12 noon funeral mass to Conwal Cemetary on Sunday.
Family time from 10pm until 12 noon each day with family flowers only and donations in lieu to the Donegal Hospice, C/O Paschal Blake, undertaker, Stoney Arch, New Line Road, Letterkenny.
Mr Blake was a hugely well-known figure in the Letterkenny area where he was a hugely-respected figure.
He formerly worked in the old Nestle plant in the town before he took over the running of the bar.
