The North West’s biggest housebuilding expo is returning to Letterkenny with #Build17 scheduled to take place at Watson Hire on February 18.
Proudly supported by AIB, #Build17 will give house builders free access to essential information from leading experts.
The event brings together a team of trusted local professionals to walk house builders step by step through the build process – and all under one roof.
The expo will coincide with Watson Hire’s annual Open Day on Saturday, February 18 and is designed for anyone building, renovating or extending their property – whether first time self-builders or experienced multi-site developers.
Garry Clarke, #Build17’s property law expert and partner at Lanigan Clarke Solicitors in Letterkenny, said the upcoming expo will have all the tips needed for the perfect build project from Malin Head to Malin Beg and everywhere in between.
“#Build17 should be the first event marked on your 2017 diary if you are building, planning to build, thinking of planning to build, renovating, extending or moving home this year or next.
“Donegal is building again and with a large number of people planning to get their projects underway in 2017 we want to ensure that they are armed with the best advice to save thousands of euro and avoid unnecessary delays.
“#Build17 is a free entry event which will walk attendees through the entire build process from inception to inhabitation. The expo has assembled a team of trusted, local professionals – all of whom are experts in their field who will highlight the important do’s and don’ts.
“#Build16 was the first event of its kind in Donegal last June and it was such a resounding success we’ve decided to host #Build17 sooner than expected. We’re delighted to welcome AIB on board as the main sponsor of this much anticipated event. We’re also excited about teaming up with John Watson to host the event during Watson Hire’s annual Open Day – the perfect setting for #Build17.”
Mr Clarke added: “From meeting planning regulations, to avoiding legal pitfalls and optimising energy efficiency to adhering to the highest levels of site safety – #Build17 has it all under one roof,” Mr Clarke adds.
Jim McLaughlin, Branch Manager, AIB Letterkenny, which is supporting the event, said: “We are looking forward to the opportunity to speak to prospective self-builders at the #Build17 event and those renovating or improving their homes to illustrate the mortgage and loan options that AIB have available.
“AIB has reduced rates four times in the past two years for new and existing mortgage customers and now offers the lowest standard variable rate in the market. The bank also offers €2,000 to anyone considering switching their mortgage to AIB to cover the professional costs involved,” he added.
#Build17 attendees will be given access to practical advice and essential information from experts in the areas of mortgages, property law, planning, site safety, building affordability, energy efficiency, property valuation and insurance cover.
#Build17’s team of experts includes Peter Cullinane from Cullinane Steele Architects; Darren Donaghy from Donaghy Training; Bert Galbraith from Galbraith Construction; Garry Clarke from Lanigan Clarke Solicitors; Christy Lynch from Efficient Renewables; Gareth McLarnon from Glen Estates and Michael McMahon from Cavanagh Hooper Dolan Insurance.
#Build17 will take place at Watson Hire, Lisnennan, Letterkenny on Saturday, February 18 from 10am – 2pm. Entry to both the event and the fantastic #Build17 prize draw is free.
