New crane for island will give fishermen a great lift

Independent Councillor Micheál Choilm Mac Giolla Easbuig has said it is encouraging to see that the new crane has now been erected on Gola Island.

The West Donegal councillor who has been working with locals and council officials in securing funding for the crane.

He said “The crane will be a massive benefit to the local fishermen and others who use the pier.

“Our islands and coastal communities need this type of development if they are to thrive. I’ve been working with communities in Rosbeg and Magheroarty to provide cranes as well.”
