A woman who abused hospital staff and then attacked Gardai has turned her life around, a court has been told.
Christine Boyle appeared before Letterkenny District Court charged with public order and assault charges charges.
The court was told that Ms Boyle had attended Letterkenny University Hospital on September 3rd last at 3am.
It was suspected that she had taken pills but she claimed she had only been drinking and was clutching a can of beer.
She became aggressive and woke a number of other people who were in the A&E at the time.
She was warned by Gardai to calm down and initially did but then became abusive again and signed herself out of hospital against the will of staff.
As she was leaving she pushed a Garda and was arrested.
She was taken to Letterkenny Garda station where she attempted to knee a Garda in the groin before kicking out.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said the court was very aware of Ms Boyle and her personal situation but stressed that she was making great strides with her behaviour.
“She is changing and she is much more approachable and she is a different person today than she was before,” he said.
Judge Paul Kelly has for a probation report to be carried out on Ms Boyle and adjourned the case until March 20th next.
