Saturday saw two of our athletes head to Gransha in Derry for the North West Cross Country competition.

On what was a beautiful sunny day there was a large turnout for all the races. Molly Trearty ran in the mixed u16 race where she had a great run over the 3500m course and kept in contention for the whole race finishing strongly to come home in 4th place.

Bridie Trearty was up next in the mixed Senior race and with over 260 competitors had to dig deep to keep with the lead group throughout the 6000m course and after a great run came home in 3rd place in her age category.

On Boxing Day Cranford AC will host the Bill Hunter and Winifred Gallagher Memorial race in Cranford Park at 12.30pm for juveniles and 1.30pm for the senior race and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible out to enjoy what is always a great day with prize-giving afterwards at the Beach Hotel, Downings.
