A man was extradited from the North yesterday and appeared at a Co Donegal court charged in connection with the death of another young man.
Shane Patton was killed in July, 2012 when the car he was driving was in collision with another car on the Main Letterkenny to Ballybofey Road at Callan, Drumkeen.
The late Mr Patton was just 18 years old when he died.
An outstanding circuit court warrant for Eamonn Lynch was issued on December 9th, 2014.
However, Lynch, now aged 43, failed to appear and he left the jurisdiction.
Garda Detective Michael Galvin appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court yesterday.
He told the court he had secured an extradition warrant for Lynch and that he arrested him at Bridgend on the Donegal border with Derry at 12.57pm yesterday afternoon.
Lynch appeared before Judge John O’Hagan where the court was told that Lynch faces a charge of dangerous driving causing death.
Barrister Peter Nolan told the court that he would not be applying for bail and Lynch was remanded in custody until the next sitting of the court in January.
