Warehouse Bar + Kitchen on Main Street, Letterkenny are hosting a Christmas lunch with Santa Claus and are hoping to make a difference while they’re at it.
Families and kids will have the opportunity to meet Santa, his elves and listen to stories by Mrs Claus all while enjoying a delicious Sunday lunch. And anyone who brings along a toy to donate to Letterkenny Hospital children’s ward, their kids eat free.
The festive lunch will be on Sunday December 18 from 11am to 2pm.
“Let’s face it; no one wants to be in the hospital, especially during Christmas and it’s even tougher to bear when its children. The staff at Warehouse want to use this opportunity to reach out to the community to help brighten up a sick child’s life on a special day,” says Damien O’Donnell, General Manager Warehouse Bar + Kitchen.
All toys and gifts must be newly purchased due to infection and safety concerns and should be washable. Toys such as new stuffed animals with tags still attached, small Lego sets, board books, baby dolls, plastic animals and dinosaurs, sturdy plastic cars and games such as Connect Four and Monopoly Junior are all good examples of the type of gifts the children can use in hospital. Please do not wrap donations and the hospital asks that you avoid gifting any toys or action figures with weapons or violent themes.
“Kids eating free at the Sunday lunch are just an incentive for our customers and the community to donate a toy to the hospital. The gifts don’t need to be costly as it really is the thought that goes into it that will hopefully raise the spirits of the children,” explains O’Donnell.
If anyone wishes to donate a toy, they can also drop a toy off at Warehouse Bar + Kitchen before December 18 (100 Upper Main Street, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal) which will then be delivered to the children at Letterkenny Hospital in time for Christmas. For further information call (074) 912 2066.
The bar are also hosting festive events and live music throughout the month of December, including a student Christmas party on December 14 with hundreds of Euros in prizes up for grabs for best festive dressed.
