With Christmas just around the corner, all roads lead to Ramelton tonight!
That’s because the town will be switching on what’s becoming known as one of the best Christmas lighting displays in the country.
A team of volunteers have spent day and night on the streets of Ramelton for the past 4-5 weeks erecting the Christmas lights display.
This display is very unique to the town as all our special features are handmade within the community by a team of dedicated volunteers and funded by our local community.
Without the funds or the dedication of the volunteers this display would not be possible.
After major success of last year’s switch on by Robert Mizzell we have decided once again to invite you all to Gambles Square, Ramelton tonight 7:30pm to switch on the Christmas Lights display for 2016.
The switch on event will commence with Jason Mc Cahill entertaining the crowd from 7pm to 7:30pm, when he will hand the mic over to one of Irelands top country music stars. It is our honour to welcome once again Robert Mizzell to the town of Ramelton for this big night.
Robert and his band will be live on the gig-rig at Gambles Square where they will play a two-hour concert for a small cover charge of €5 with children under 12 going free. Robert and his band will perform from 7:30 to 8:30pm, before Rameltons stretch of Christmas lights are switched on by local hero, Ciaran Murray. Robert will then play on till, before 10pm to finish of the night.
Gambles square will be closed on Wednesday evening to facilitate the event. Parking will be sign posted and stewards will be present.
Three gates, one at the shore road, the bottom of the tank and the bray near O’Donnell arms pub will be the only entrances into the arena.
A huge crowd is expected so leave yourself plenty of time so you don’t miss this opportunity.
Invite your friends and family to come out and show Robert Mizzell what a wee town like Ramelton can pull off. Get your dancing shoes on!!
With your continued support our lights display will only get bigger and better.
