Donegal’s fifteen Centra stores are celebrating another fantastic year serving the local community.
As Ireland’s leading convenience retailer the chain of local supermarkets are at the heart of local communities.
Centra stores are independently owned, which means that we as retailers work where we live and live where we work.
The store is now celebrating creating and sustaining 540 jobs across Centra stores in Donegal.
But moreover than substantial employment, the company sports the local community through local sponsorships, donations and community support.
In Donegal alone, Centra contributes nearly €135,000 in donations or sponsorship commitments to over 244 local charities, community groups, schools and sports clubs.
Centra retailers in Donegal have a strong commitment to supporting initiatives within their local communities and we are delighted to sponsor local clubs such as well as the Irish Cancer Societies Action Breast Cancer programme.
Shoppers understand the value of shopping locally and supporting their own community and want to shop where they live. At Centra, we are focused on supporting local jobs in the community and providing value and quality to our customers.
As a result the company has built up a loyal customer base due to the substantial contribution they make to the communities our stores are based in and our contribution to the local economy.
Centra stores in Donegal source almost €3.5million worth of products from local suppliers per annum. As well as supporting local suppliers, Centra stores also spend €769,500 with businesses in Donegal communities each year.
There has never been so much value south of the border in terms of offer and promotions and our shoppers understand this.
‘We believe consumers are aware of the value available locally, in particular in Centra.”
