A Gaeltacht summer college located in South-West Donegal has welcomed the announcement that it will receive a grant of €6,072.
Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Seán Kyne T.D has approved a €6,072 grant for Coláiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne, Teelin’s Irish language summer college.
The grant will help the college carry out works to the entrance of the building.
The Gaeltacht summer college has also announced dates for their 2017 summer courses, for 12 – 17 year olds who wish to improve their Irish.
After last summer’s courses sold out, a third course has been announced for 2017.
Welcoming the grant, College Chairperson, Dr Pádraig Ó Tiarnaigh said, “This latest funding from The Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, alongside continuous support from Irish-language organization Comhaltas Uladh ensures Coláiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne can continue to expand and develop in the coming years.
“We welcome this investment as we look forward to accommodating over 200 young Irish-language learners in 2017 on our 3 new summer courses.”
Coláiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne in Teelin is also available for local community groups who wish to use its facilities and for sports and youth groups who wish to attend Irish-language residential courses.
