Eighteen dancers from Letterkenny put their best foot forward at their first national hip hop competition last weekend.
The young crews from SM Dance & Fitness competed at Spectrum’s Hip Hop Dancer of the Year competition at the Pillo Hotel, Ashbourne, Co. Meath on Sunday November 6th.
Two hip hop groups from the dance school: Rendition Crew (11 members) and Infinity (7 members) competed with more than 62 other crews (700 dancers) and came home with amazing results.
This was their first national competition and they proved to be a huge credit to themselves, their parents and their dance school.
Infinity placed first in their 12+U category and Rendition Crew placed 2nd in their 14+U category.
To add to the excitement of the day, they also had some solo wins with Cara McGroarty placing first in her 10+U category and also winning Overall Dancer of the Year 2016.
Amy Callaghan took home first place in her solo category 12+U. Other wins include Neisha Lunn, 2nd 10+U, Rosie Cairns, 3rd 12+U, Laoise Morgan, 5th 14+U and Amy Shovlin, 6th 12+U.
SM Dance & Fitness wished a big well done to all the dancers who took part and expressed their thanks to the parents and instructors who travelled also.
