Two of Donegal’s finest hotels received honours in this year’s annual National Hospitality Conference and Awards.
The ceremony recognised top bars, restaurants and hotels around the country, and Donegal was well-represented in the Best Destination Hotel category.
Lough Eske Castle and Harvey’s Point respectively took the second and third place awards, trumped only by the Sheen Falls Lodge in Co. Kerry.
The two luxury hotels on the shores of Lough Eske outside Donegal Town were announced as the winners yesterday at an event hosted by Hospitality Ireland in Dublin.
Winning the awards will provide another boost to the successful Donegal hotels and motivate the teams further, as well as enticing more visitors to the picturesque location of Lough Eske.
The awards are judged by industry professionals to a rigorous standard, and are evidence that an establishment has excelled both front and back of house.
However, Donegal businesses missed out on prizes for best restaurants and pubs – The Stag’s Head in Dublin was named best overall pub and the best overall restaurant award went to Loam in Galway city.
