Ladies football in Glenswilly is on the rise after their U13 girls team lifted the county C title today.
Played in testing conditions in Glenfin, Ann Marie McDaid’s side faced a very good Four Masters team.
Glenswilly enjoyed a lot of early possession but could not convert in front of goal.
Four Masters punished Glen’s lack of accuracy in front of goal and pushed them to the edge of their collars throughout the game.
But Glenswilly, spurred on by the likes of Shania McLaughlin, Mary Doherty, Aoibhe Harrigan and Lara Faul, who made an amazing save in the dying minutes, managed to get across the line.
It was an overall team performance however, as the girls added some more silverware to a certain other county championship won at MacCumhaill Park a few weeks back.
