CAOLAN MELAUGH FUNDRAISER MATCH
Well done to everybody would took part in the Caolan Melaugh fundraiser match in Cappry Park on Sunday evening. Red Hughs were the visitors and played out a very entertaining 1st half of soccer and a 2nd half of Gaelic. Thanks to everybody who came through the gates to support such a worthy cause. Rumour has it that the match officials ran out of paper in the 2nd half to record all the scores but they have said that Cappry came through victorious. Rumour has it also that Benji is struggling to get over being chipped by Frank McGlynn in the 1st half……shocking!!!

Donegal got back level when they scored following a free kick, Aaron Slevin scoring at the back post. The game was still level at half time. Donegal Town went in front when Aaron Slevin found the net again. Cappry tried to get back into the game and finally got level when Gerard Melaugh scored in the 85th minute. Cappry nearly won the game when Calvin Bradley had his effort in the 90th minute cleared off the line. Two team performances.

CAPPRY ROVERS U13’s
Cappry were back in SFAI National Cup action again at the weekend when they welcomed Cavan Shamrocks to Cappry Park on Saturday afternoon. This was a journey into the unknown as they never faced them before and didn’t know what to expect. Cappry were dominant from the kick off and created numerous chances in the 1st few minutes. It was only a matter of time before the 1st goal came and Kevin McCormack scored his 1st in the 7th minute and it was closely followed by Mark Mbuli in the 8th minute when he got his 1st of the game. Cappry kept the pressure up and were soon 4 up when Kevin scored his second in the 12th minute and Luke McGlynn scored his 1st on 13th minute. Cavan came into it for a spell after this without really threatening the Cappry goal. Cappry went on to add another before half time when Mark scored his 2nd in the 25th minute on make it 5-0. Early in the 2nd half Mark completed his hat trick with what was probably was the goal of the game when he cheekily chipped the ball over the keeper in the 33rd minute. Not to be outdone Kevin scored in the 44th minute to complete a hat trick of his own to make it 7-0. At this stage the Cappry management were encouraging their players to just keep the ball and pass it about but more goals followed in the 50th minute and 53th minute through Luke McGlynn and Josh McMenamin to leave the final score 9-0 to Cappry. They now have an Ulster Final to look forward to when they travel to Letterkenny to play Bonagee Utd.
CAPPRY COLTS U12’s
The Colts travelled to Castlefin on Saturday afternoon to play their final game of the league campaign and came home with a comprehensive 6-1 victory with Odhran Quigley Doherty scoring a hat trick and further goals coming from Sean Ryan, Eoin McGonagle and Niall Ryan. They finished the league in 2nd place, only a point behind league winners, Lagan Harps. We would like to congratulate the players and management on a very good season and also to extend our good wishes to Lagan on their league success.
