A Letterkenny business owner has offered a €500 award after his premises was broken into.
Thieves smashed through the back door of Universal Books on Church Lane and caused a considerable amount of criminal damage.
The thieves used a bar to open the door before rummaging through the shop.
The break-in happened between 5.30pm on Saturday evening and 10am on Sunday morning.
As well as causing damage to the shop, money was taken from a float in the shop’s cash register.
Gardai are viewing CCTV footage of the area in a bid to identify the culprits.
Owner David Faughan has offered the reward which he hopes will lead to the burglars being caught.
