The Embassy of the Republic of Poland is fundraising to help families affected by the blaze which destroyed apartments above a car park in Letterkenny last month.
The fire at Rosemount Lane on September 29th led to several families becoming homeless after they were evacuated from their homes in the early hours of the morning.
Several cars caught fire and two businesses were also affected by severe smoke damage. The blaze was estimated to have caused half a million euro in damages.
Families were accommodated in hotels and advised by the Council on how to find other accommodation. However, according to the embassy, the building remains uninhabitable, their home furnishings were destroyed and they continue to require assistance.
The Polish Embassy in Dublin last week launched an appeal to help the Polish, Irish, Lithuanian and Slovak families whose lives were disrupted by the fire.
The non-profit association Little Homeland is asking for benefactors to show solidarity with the victims and make donations to help them.
