The new chairperson of the Donegal ETB has been named as Letterkenny woman Gina Grant.
Ms Grant is a well-known activist for children’s health and education. She served as deputy chairperson of the Donegal Education and Training Board for the past year.
Ms Grant was elected at yesterday’s board meeting, and will be bringing her campaigning skills to her leading role in the organisation.
She is a prominent campaigner in support of children with special needs, most notably with the Donegal Down Syndrome Association and raising awareness for mitochondrial disease – two causes which affect two of her own children.
She is also a founding member of Our Children’s Voice, a group of Donegal parents who campaign for the provision of children’s palliative care.
Donegal ETB provides educational services across the county, including post primary schools and colleges, further and adult education and third level education. The board manages 15 post-primary schools, along with various youth centres.
