Seniors
Tir Chonaill Gaels surrendered the senior title to St. Kiernan’s at Greenford yesterday afternoon. The Gaels failed to get going properly with a free from John McGrath & a point from Stuart Johnson being the only scores in the first half, leaving the score at the break 0-06 to 0-02. St. Kiernan’s had the bulk of possession for the second half, adding scores along the way and maintained their advantage throughout. Final score 0-12 to 0-05. Congratulations to St. Kiernan’s on winning their first title and we wish them well in the All-Ireland quarter finals where they’ll face the eventual Ulster champions. Finally to Lloyd, Patrick the players and all involved behind the scenes – congratulations on reaching yet another final and a good season’s work and we look forward to being back in 2017!
Andy Duffy Memorial Day – Saturday 5th November
A further reminder that the club will be holding a memorial day to mark the 10th anniversary of the passing of our former chairman, Andy Duffy. Greatly missed, Andy had a remarkable impact on the club and helped everyone in any way he could. Mass in the clubhouse at 1pm will be followed by a challenge between TCG Juniors and TCG Seniors. We also welcome former players to tog out. Refreshments will follow in the clubhouse, and we look forward to seeing you on the day.
