Brides and grooms are invited to dust off their nuptial garments and ‘Dare to Wear’ them once more for a charity afternoon tea party in the Radisson Blu Hotel next Saturday (October 15).
Radisson BLU Hotel Letterkenny has teamed up with Today FM to stage the wacky, wedding-themed event as part of station’s national ‘Dare to Care’ campaign in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
Today FM’s Phil Cawley will broadcast his show live from the hotel during what promises to be one of the most fun-filled charity fundraising events of the year.
Whether married last week, last year or in the last century, guests are being urged take just a little more mileage out of their wedding garb during the madcap charity drive.
Entire bridal parties are welcome to get in on the action – the more flower girls, page boys and bridesmaids the merrier.
Those who havn’t tied the knot needn’t feel jilted as all are welcome to dress up and enjoy the fun. Even couples willing to cross-dress for the day are to be positively encouraged, say the organisers.
Aoife Mullen from the Radisson Blu Hotel says that every penny raised during the wedding caper will go directly to the Irish Cancer Society.
She explains: “Dare to Wear certainly is an afternoon tea with a twist and we’re sure everyone will have great fun on the day while supporting this very worthy cause.
Admission to afternoon tea is just €10 with every single penny going directly to the Irish Cancer Society so we’re keen to raise a very substantial sum.
“Doors will open from 11am to 2pm and we are daring all guests to wear a wedding dress/suit or even just a fancy frock. Of course we’d also love to see everyone bring their little flower girls and page boys along for what promises to be an event packed with fun.”
The Dare to Wear Tea Party will take place from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, October 15, Letterkenny. Admission €10.
