TEMPERATURES have topped 17C in Donegal today as a blast of autumn heat left the county basking in sunshine.
And the good news from Met Eireann is that Sunday and Monday will see more of the same.
Patches of mist and fog will soon clear on Sunday morning giving another warm day.
The forecaster says Donegal will be among the best places for autumn sunshine this weekend with just light to moderate southeast or variable breezes.
Monday will also be lovely with once again overnight mist and fog clearing to give a mostly dry day, with a mix of cloud and sunny spells – just isolated light showers, mainly on coasts exposed to the light to moderate easterly breeze.
It will be Autumnal, a little cooler, with highest temperatures in Donegal of around 14C. It will be cool overnight with some mist and fog in a few places. Lows of 6 to 8 C.
Tuesday: Still a lot of dry weather, with the same mix of cloud and some bright or sunny spells. Some showers too, these mainly light and well scattered. A breezy day with moderate to fresh southeast to easterly breezes. Highs just 12 to 14 C., so feeling cool in the breeze.
Midweek Period: Cool and breezy , some bright or sunny spells, but rather cloudy at times with more showers about as compared to previous days.
