Brave soccer star Kevin McHugh has managed to laugh in the face of pain but could still lose his finger after a freak accident.
The Finn Harps striker suffered a horrific injury to his wedding ring finger after apparently jumping over a fence on Wednesday evening.
The Killea man caught his wedding band on a fence and was left with his finger literally hanging by a thread.
Amazingly Kevin drove himself to Letterkenny University Hospital and was then rushed to Galway University Hospital in a bid to save the finger.

But alas the dad-of-two revealed to family and friends that his injury is simply to bad to repair properly.
And he even managed to poke fun at what looked like an excruciating injury.
He tweeted “Op over. Unfortunately finger to badly damaged to repair properly. Thanks for all ur messages, cant reply to all. Esp with 1 hand! #Moveon”
Kevin, who works with Donegal County Council, is still at Galway University Hospital.
But he joked that he could be ready for his side’s game this weekend…..!
