CAPPRY ROVERS
Cappry Rovers were in action on Sunday when they welcomed Donegal Town to Cappry Park. They were finally going to get their league campaign started. Unfortunately, the match had to be abandoned after 30 minutes due to an injury to referee Con McLaughlin.
Hopefully things will go better for them next Sunday when they travel to the Lifford Athletic Centre to play Deele Harps. Kick off will be at 2pm.
CAPPRY ROVERS RESERVES
Cappry Reserves were in Voodoo Venue Cup action at the weekend when Strand Rovers were the visitors to Cappry Park. Strand ran out 3-0 winners but in truth this probably flattered the visitors as a very youthful Cappry team made it a very difficult for them. Strand scored the 1st on the half hour and despite the best efforts of Cappry they couldn’t get the equaliser. Strand went in at the break 1 nil ahead. It stayed like that until Strand were awarded a penalty on the hour mark. Their final goal came in the dying minutes. This was a good performance from the lads.
CAPPRY CRUSADERS U14’s
Our U14 Cappry Crusaders welcomed Gweedore Celtic Impact to Cappry Park on Sunday 25/9/16. Shane McBride made his competitive debut in goals and had an assured game with safe handling and good distribution from his kickouts! Johnny Griffin, Kian Gallagher and Jason McElchar set the tone for the game as an organised tough tackling rearguard that kept Gweedore to long range efforts on goal throughout! Conor Lynch continued his good form in central midfield allowing Ronan Gallagher, Oisin Doherty, Keelan Browne and Sean Marley to take the game to Gweedore! Oisin Doherty scored the first with an assured finish and Keelan Browne scored three to make his first competitive hat trick, Shaun Marley providing the three assists! Daniel Taberski, Owen Stewart provided energy on the wings and all 16 members of the panel played their part in this win especially Johnny Bell and Darragh Porter upon introduction! Final score 4 – 0 to Cappry! Keep up the good work boys! Thanks to Gweedore for a sporting game!!!
