Malin are back into the last four of the Donegal SFC after a brilliant victory over Dungloe this afternoon at O’Donnell Park.
Malin trailed by six points at one stage, but showed tremendous character and spirit to fight back and win in dramatic circumstances.
An early goal from the lively Adam Neely meant Malin were always chasing Dungloe, and at one stage looked in deep trouble when they trailed 1-05 to 0-02.
Neely and Ryan Greene were causing the Malin defence all sorts of problems, but they rallied before the break with Stephen McLaughlin and Brendan Fildara impressing for the Inishowen men.
Malin cut the deficit to three points by the half-time mark with Tony Boyle’s side leading on a score-line of 1-06 to 0-06.
In the second-half, Dungloe only registered two points through Shaun Sharkey and Adam Neely, and when the latter was black-carded the writing was on the wall for the Rosses men.
Malin hit six unanswered points to lead by two as the game ticked into injury-time.
Dungloe desperately tried to get back into the match, but Malin got over the line to secure a brilliant win for the club.
They now go into the draw for the last four of the Donegal SFC for the first time since 2013.
