Management and staff at the stunning Harvey’s Point Hotel are celebrating today – after being named the ‘Hotel of the Year’.
Harvey’s Point were awarded the prestigious Georgina Campbell Awards ceremony which was held at Bord Bia, in Dublin.
The Donegal four-star – also Ireland’s No.1 on TripAdvisor – was cited for its stunning location, luxurious accommodation and waterside fine dining restaurant.
The Georgina Campbell Awards are the longest running Hospitality Awards in Ireland and are highly coveted throughout the industry.
Manager of Harvey’s Point, Deirdre McGlone expressed her delight at the award via her social media timeline on Twitter.
McGlone tweeted, “Proud and honoured to be awarded ‘Hotel of the Year’ 2017 #GCAwards @IrelandGuide
The award will give management and staff a timely boost after a sad start to the week for all associated with Harvey’s Point.
Harvey the gander, was the oldest goose in Ireland and lived in the hotel garden for 27 years.
However, he sadly passed away and Deirdre paid a fitting tribute to him.
Following his death, Deirdre paid him a warm tribute.
She said: “Our gorgeous goose Harvey was an integral part of the team which built and developed Harvey’s Point Hotel.
“Now that he is in that part of the universe where great geese go, we hope that he will inspire us to continue our work of looking after our guests and that he will one day send us a webbed successor who will grace our lake and our lawns.”
