FEATURES: Buncranas U16 boys narrowly deafeated by Muff in division 1
U21 Championship:
Buncrana 0-11
St Eunanas 4-08.
They say that goals win games, well this was maybe the case for our U21 team. Team manager Sean Clerkin had great hope for this squad, and after an impressive win over a strong Kilcar team in the last round he had a vision of great things to come. However this was not to be our day and in an age group that can be difficult to predict Buncrana bowed out of the championship. This team was a great combination of the last number of years of hard work at underage and also some of our minors coming through. We have seen some of these players feature in county squads at the highest level and proves the work coaches and players have put in over the last 10 – 12 years with them.
U16 Football:
U16 Div 1 Championship report: Old rivals Buncrana and Muff met in Muff. Unfortunately this was not our night with the result favouring the opposition. The lads have now to pick themselves up and go and win next week in Gweedore (no easy task).
Final score Muff 1-9 Buncrana 0-10
U9 Football:
U9 Boys travelled to Four Masters on Saturday for the Liam Brown Memorial Tournament. Topping their group with wins over Mac Chumhaill’s, St Mary’s Sligo and Naomh Conaill. They carried on to Cup Qtr final with a victory over Aodh Ruadh lead their way to the semi-final over hosts Four Masters what was a close and physical game pushed our boys on for a 2 point win. Progressing on to meet Ardara in the final, our boys gave everything they had but came up short in the end by 2 points. This is a newly formed U9 (2007 only) team and future’s bright for theses boys
