Patients warned of long delays with 30 on waiting list at Letterkenny Hospital

Saolta, the company which oversees Letterkenny University Hospital, has yet again warned it is very busy this afternoon.

At present there are more than 30 patients awaiting admission to the hospital’s accident and emergency department.

“Patients attending the hospital’s Emergency Department this evening can expect long delays and we apologise to patients and their families for these delays.

“We would like to remind the public to attend the Emergency Department only in the case of real emergencies and they should contact their GP or GP Out-of-Hours service in the first instance,” said a spokesman.
