A Donegal restaurant have expressed their delight at being shortlisted for a prestigious industry award.
The fabulous Chandpur Restaurant in Donegal Town has been nominated in two categories for the awards ceremony that will be held next in Dublin month.
The restaurant has also been shortlisted for the ‘Best Indian in Ireland’ award and ‘Best Chef in Ulster’ award.
Described by many as the best Indian in the North-West, the popular business has now received deserved national recognition.
Management at The Chandpur Restaurant, Susan Miah told Donegal Daily, “We’re overjoyed that we have been shortlisted for the ‘Best Indian in Ireland’ at the Yes Chef Awards to be held in Dublin next month.
“We’ve also been shortlisted in the ‘Irish Curry Awards’ this is the first year of these awards, for the ‘Best Indian Restaurant in Ulster’ and ‘Best Chef in Ulster’ award has been overwhelming.
“These awards are in Belfast on the 25th October, and we are the only restaurant outside of Northern Ireland to make the final so we hope to bring this title home to Donegal.
“Very few restaurants even make the shortlist – so to get this far is an amazing achievement for a small restaurant in Donegal Town.”
