*The use of disabled parking bays by able bodied motorists
Cllr. Kavanagh told the meeting that he wanted a review of all aspects of parking in the town, as there was such a variety of issues being raised and he asked the council to get the views of the gardai , business owners, the chamber of commerce, taxi drivers, disabled drivers, Letterkenny forum, and interested members of the public and put in place a plan of action for parking in Letterkenny.
Cllr. Kavanagh told the meeting that he recognised that it was impossible to keep everyone happy in terms of parking, but said that he believed with consultation the council could tackle many of the issues that were causing concern to the public and local businesses.
Cllr. Kavanagh’s motion was seconded by Cllr. Gerry McMonagle and was unanimously agreed by the meeting.
He concluded by thanking the other members for their support and urged the council to now act on the motion and carry out a review as requested.
