This week saw the start of an exciting new Football for All initiative which is a joint venture between Donegal Sports Partnership and the FAI.
The programme targets children with a disability aged between 6-12 years and is open to all levels of ability. Organised as part of European Week of Sport the initiative comes under the umbrella of the Sports Inclusion Programme with Donegal Sports Partnership.
Children on the night had the opportunity to participate in a fun skills session under the expert guidance of Shane Barr (Development Officer with the FAI) and Paddy Gallagher (Coach with Drumbar F.C.)
Speaking after the initial session Sports Inclusion Disability Officer Thérèse Laverty said it was great to see the new programme get off the ground.
“The children all seemed to enjoy themselves and the session was fun, safe and interactive. I would love to see more participants and coaches get involved”. Parents said children “loved it”, “it was a great introductory session” and that they would “love more regular sessions”
