CAPPRY ROVERS U16’s
Cappry Rovers were on their travels again on Saturday when they made the journey to Orchard Park Manor to play Lagan Harps. This was always going to be a tough test for the lads but they showed great character and great team spirit as they put in a great performance to win 5-1. The goal scorers were, Jamie Keegan, Kaine McGlynn, Oisin Gallen (pen), Daire McCafferty and Kyle O’Meara.
CAPPRY ROVERS U14’s
Cappry Rovers had home advantage again at the weekend when they welcomed Castlefin to Cappry Park. In a tight contest it was the Cappry lads who came out on top. Jamie Murray and Ryan McGee scored the goals in the 2-1 win.
CAPPRY CRUSADERS U14’s
A report that was left out last week, sorry!!!
Cappry Crusaders U14’s welcomed a big physical Swilly Ramblers side last Sunday for a home game. After a disappointing showing against Milford the previous week, the coaches asked for industry and commitment from this young side against their older opponents. While a 5-0 score line tells one story, the real story is one about our boys battling against the odds, running the hard yards and tackling as if their lives depended on it! Led by captain Ronan Gallagher with his energy and drive, Tim Scanlon, Kian Gallagher, Jason McElhar and Conor Lynch provided
stubborn resistance with battling qualities that belied their tender years! Keelan Browne battled the midfield zone gamely with Daniel Taberski and Kyle O’Donnell showing well! Daniel Crawford made some excellent saves with Eoin Stewart, Declan Slevin and Oisin Doherty battling for the cause! A big effort put in by our boys today! Keep up the good work. Thanks to Swilly for a sporting game.
CAPPRY ROVERS U12’s
Cappry made the short trip to Convoy on Saturday and put in a quality performance. Kevin McCormack opened the scoring with what was going to be a memorable day for him. His goal was followed up by goals from Mark Mbuli and Luke McGylnn to make it 3-0. Kevin McCormack was to pop up again for his 2nd of the day to make it 4 nil at the break. In the 2nd half Kevin McCormack really grabbed the headlines when he went on to score another 4 goals to take his tally for the day to 6. Although it was Kevin who had a really good day scoring a bagful of goals, this in truth was a extremely good team performance and one the players should be very proud of.
CAPPRY COLTS U12’s
Cappry Colts made the short trip to the Finn Valley on Saturday afternoon to play Ballybofey Utd Colts. The Cappry boys proved too strong for their opponents and came away with a comprehensive 5-0 win. Eoin McGonagle and Niall Ryan grabbed a brace each and Sean Lyons got the other goal. This was a very good performance from the lads and gets them back to winning ways following the defeat the previous week.
CAPPRY CRUSADERS U12’s
Cappry Crusaders welcomed Fintown Harps Colts to a sunny Cappry Park on Saturday morning. Unfortunately the sun didn’t shine for Cappry and they fell to their 1st league defeat of the year. Cappry pressed for the opener but couldn’t find a way past the Fintown goal keeper who was in outstanding form. Fintown opened the scoring after Cappry failed to clear a corner midway through the 1st half. Cappry had numerous chances after that but either the keeper saved well, hit the post or went narrowly wide. Fintown were dangerous going forward when they would catch Cappry on the break and when they were awarded a penalty for a foul in the box, they made no mistake to make it 2-0. There was only a couple of minutes left at that stage and it proved too difficult to claw back.
