Andy is married to Pamela with two sons Kevin and Mark and a beautiful granddaughter Rachel.
He has worked for the North West Health Board/HSE for 34 Years.
A busy man, he has been involved for many years in the Local Amateur Drama Scene and in more recent times the local Comedy Circuit appearing regularly at comedy at the vintage room Letterkenny.
His next stand up gig will be on Cultural Night, the 16th of September at An Grianan Theatre..

(1) What is your favourite place in Donegal and why?
There are many beautiful places in Donegal put on a clear day at the top of Mount Errigal looking over Dunlewey lake ,the poisoned glen and the old church is hard to beat.
(2) If you could change one thing about Donegal what would it be?
Have more clear days!
(3) Who is the one person in Donegal that you look up to and why?
Anyone who gives of their free time to support young people and their activities. So for me the McLaughlin family, John, Jack and Niall who ran the Letterkenny Boxing Club for many decades will always have my respect.
(4) Daniel O’Donnell or Packie Bonner?
Packie Bonner and that save that helped us into the Italia 90s quarter Final. Lifted the county and the country.

(5) What has been Donegal’s proudest moment in recent years?
The emergence of our sportsmen and sports women onto the international scene on a more regular basis/Letterkenny winning the National tidy Towns competition was also a major triumph.
(6) What was Donegal’s saddest moment?
No one particular moment, but the many road deaths in our county are heartbreaking.
(7) What is your favourite Donegal-made product?
The wife (Pamela) produced by her mother and father in 1966 and maturing nicely (unlike her husband)
(8) Who is Donegal’s greatest ambassador around the world and why?
Daniel O Donnell promotes Donegal wherever he goes and should receive an honouree ambassadorship.
(9) Who is Donegal’s most successful businessperson in your opinion?
My Mother. She could make a euro go a long way and could always spot a bargain, she always got our uniforms in the local army and navy surplus store… although in hindsight it wasn’t much fun going to school dressed as a Japanese Rear Admiral.

John Fitzgerald (Fitzy) a tough Kerrykeel based senior middleweight
(11) What is your favourite Donegal restaurant?
Sit in : The Lemon Tree, Take away : Charlies or Mr Chippy.
(12) Donegal’s golden eagles or basking sharks?
Golden Eagles, Jaws finished me with Sharks basking or otherwise.
(13) What is your favourite Donegal saying or expression?
‘Back in a wee while’ the equivalent of Spains ‘Manyana’
(14) What is the biggest challenge facing the people of Donegal today?
Our poor roads and lack of a rail network are real challenge to getting work done in a timely and safe way.
(15) What is your favourite Donegal food?
The potato, boiled, roasted or chipped …scrumptious.

(16) Is there anything that really annoys you about Donegal or its people?
Our weather, A bit more sun and temperatures over 15 degrees would be nice occasionally.
(17) Do you have a favourite local band?
Growing up I would have been a fan of the Undertones from Derry, not at many musical gigs now but always enjoy Honkey Tonk Heros, Raw or Off the Cuff when I hear them.
(18) If you had a million euro to improve something in Donegal what would it be?
A second bridge for Letterkenny.
(19) What is your favourite part about being a comedian?
Has to be the rush and buzz of hearing laughter or applause when a joke goes really well, however it works the other way when the expected laugh or applause doesn’t come.

(20) Is there anything about Donegal that you are very proud of?
County wide our scenery is spectacular and we should all be doing our best to promote it.
