It was revealed yesterday that Playboy bunny Dani Mathers could face a jail sentence of up to 6 months after posting an image of a nude pensioner getting dressed at the gym with the caption “if I can’t unsee this then you can’t either”.
It has been rumoured that the nude lady in the photo is interested in pressing charges.
Posting on Twitter she said; “I’m sorry for what I did. I need to take some time to myself now to reflect on why I did this horrible thing.”
Mathers issued a video apology, saying she never meant to send it to her thousands of fans – but to a personal conversation with a friend.
DD Fitness columnist and owner of Rushe Fitness, Emmet Rushe, weighed in on the controversy saying;
“There are 2 things wrong with what she did. The most obvious one is the invasion of this persons privacy and then posting it on a social media platform.”
“The worst part of what she did was, she publicly shamed someone who was at the gym trying to better themselves. It’s a complete contradiction.”
“This woman was in there for her own personal goals and what she was doing was benefiting HER.”
“What Dani did not only knocked the woman’s confidence, but it also sent a message to anyone entering the gym that, if you aren’t training to look like a model, you shouldn’t be there.”
“This is nonsense, everyone has their own goals, and no-one has the right to deter you from them.”
Emmet explained that a gym should be a welcoming enviornment, and no one should be made to feel ashamed when all they are trying to do is better themselves.
