Junior Golf
On Sunday the 4th September, our U16s team hosted their Ballyliffin counterparts in the semi final first leg of the Donegal Boys Fourball Championship. The first pair of Conor Hanna and Luke Kelly fought their way back from a 3 hole deficit to draw level on the 17th however they were foiled by a great birdie from their opponents on the last.
The second pair of James T Sweeney and Tom McClintock played some great golf including 4 birdies to win 4&2. The final pair of Carlos O’Reilly and Kyle McGarvey won 6 of their last 7 holes to win 5&4. With a lead of 2-1, our boys head to Ballyliffin next Saturday the 10th September for the second leg. Good luck to all the boys. It would be great to see you in the final.
In our Saturday morning competition for the juveniles, we had a three ball scramble. It turned out to be very close contest but the winners by one shot were the team of Conor Neely, Cormac Hall and Michael Dolan. Cormac played some fantastic shots on his way around as did Michael however, it was Conor Neely who sank a nerve jangling eagle putt on the last to secure victory. In the cadets section, Caolan McFadden played some fantastic golf winning both first prize and shot of the day.
Jack Druce won putt of the day.
Club notes
